Technology. Cybersecurity. Leadership. From the Operational Side of the Table
IPHWY is an independent technology, cybersecurity, and leadership publication founded by Jim Leone, an IT and security operations leader with more than 30 years of hands-on experience across enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, network operations, security operations, compliance, and technology leadership.
The perspective here comes from operating technology in the real world – where strategy has to survive budgets, staffing constraints, legacy systems, incidents, audits, mergers, vendor promises, and the day-to-day realities of keeping critical systems secure and available.
IPHWY was created to share practical perspectives on the decisions shaping modern technology organizations: cybersecurity risk, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, operational resilience, governance, leadership, and the increasingly complicated intersection between them.
About Jim Leone

Jim Leone is an information technology and cybersecurity leader with more than 30 years of experience spanning enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, network operations, security operations, compliance, and technology strategy.
His career has been built largely from the operational side of technology – designing, managing, securing, troubleshooting, and modernizing the systems organizations depend on every day. That experience has included leadership across IT, NOC, SOC, infrastructure, cloud, identity, monitoring, incident response, governance, and security operations.
Today, Jim’s work increasingly focuses on the intersection of technology strategy, cybersecurity, operational resilience, artificial intelligence, and leadership – particularly the challenge of turning rapidly evolving technology into practical business outcomes without losing sight of risk, complexity, or the people responsible for operating it.
That operational perspective shapes IPHWY. The goal isn’t simply to report what happened or repeat vendor messaging. It’s to examine what technology developments actually mean for the people responsible for making decisions, managing risk, and keeping organizations running.
30+ Years in Technology • IT & Security Leadership • Infrastructure & Operations • Cybersecurity & SOC • Technology Strategy
